Ao no Exorcist!

After watching D-Gray Man, I couldn't stop thinking about exorcism. And so when I look up with some few anime titles, I end up finding this anime and I am thoroughly glad I watched it. Ao no Exorcist or in english known as the Blue Exorcist is one of the hell-epic anime I have watched in 2013.

The story revolves around Rin Okumura, a teenager possessing abnormal strength and endurance who, along with his twin brother Yukio, was raised by Father Shiro Fujimoto. One day, Rin learns that he is the son of Satan, the strongest of all demons. Witnessing Shiro dying to protect him, Rin ends up doing what his guardian asked him never to do: draw the demon-slaying blade Kurikara, which restrains his demonic powers, from its scabbard. From that moment on, Rin not only gains permanent demonic features like fangs, pointed ears, fiery "horns" and a tail, but also the power to ignite himself into blue flames that can destroy almost anything they touch.

At Fujimoto's funeral, Rin has an encounter with Fujimoto's friend Mephisto Pheles, who agrees with Rin's wish to become an Exorcist like his guardian to become stronger and to defeat Satan. Rin enrolls at the prestigious True Cross Academy, which is actually the Japanese branch of an international organization dedicated to protect the human realm, Assiah, from demons and other creatures from the demon realm, Gehenna. Rin takes part in a special Exorcist course, the existence of which is known only by a few. Much to his surprise, he finds that his brother Yukio is already a veteran Exorcist and will be one of his teachers. Rin must hide his true identity as the son of Satan from his other classmate and other exorcist while also fighting against demons.

Ao no Exorcist: The Movie
This anime was adapted by the manga series that has been serialized in Jump Square magazine by Shueisha since April 2009. It was then adapted into an anime television series by A-1 Pictures during 2011 and adapted into an anime film in December 2012. The anime was directed by Tensai Okamura and produced by Hiro Maruyama with 25 episodes of the series which was aired on April 17, 2011 until October 2, 2011. Currently now the anime have 25 episodes with 1 OVA called Ao No Exorcist: Kuro no Iede and 9 episodes of Ao no Exorcist Specials which contains 10 episodes. This anime also have a movie titled Ao no Exorcist: The Movie which was directed by Atsushi Takahashi and was released on December 28, 2012. From what I have seen, the movie had not released the English sub version so I couldn't watch it just yet. Correct me if I'm wrong but as of today - July 17, 2013 - there was still no English sub for the movie.

In overall this anime has a really interesting story and a unique way to express the world of exorcism. I was really excited when watching half way through the anime. Their second opening theme was the best and one of my favorite anime opening that I have saw in 2013. The song is called In My World by Rookiez is Punk'd. The song is just phenomenal. This anime is a 4/5 and I totally recommend all of you to watch it. Here is their second anime opening posted on youtube by Rodolfo Samperio.
